Applegate Group in South America

Mike Applegate was the keynote speaker to open the XXVII Latin American Conference of Hydraulics in Lima, Peru. This water conference is held every two years in the South American region and is attended by water professionals throughout the world.   He was a representative for both Applegate Group and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District.

Colorado Small Hydropower Guidebook

On behalf of the Colorado Energy Office, Applegate Group and Telluride Energy partnered in a collaborative effort to write the Colorado Small Hydropower Guidebook.

Colorado agency making allocations for small hydro development

The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is hoping to create a "small hydropower roadmap" for the state's agriculture through its Advancing Colorado's Renewable Energy (ACRE) program.

ACRE, whose purpose is to "promote the feasibility and development of agricultural energy-related projects", has already helped fund a number of research and development projects for a number of renewable energy sources.

Applegate Group awarded new contract in Nebraska

Applegate Group has been selected by the Nebraska Public Power District to perform a capacity and implementation potential assessment for hydropower generation within the state of Nebraska.  Dr. Lindsay George will be project manager and will be working with McMillen, LLC and Telluride Energy to perform the work.  The project will identify possible upgrades to existing hydropower facilities for increased generation capacity as well is the potential for developing new sites.  Work will be performed the last half of 2012.

Study to look at hydro potential in irrigation canals

Colorado State University and engineering firm Applegate Group are to research the potential for utilising low-head hydro turbines in Colorado’s irrigation canals following the award of a US$50,000 grant from the state’s Department of Agriculture.
